06 Mar Statement by the Secretary of State Ministry of Culture and National Identity of Romania, Alexandru-Vasile Oprean – 19-02-2018

“A coffee shop, or a café, “so what”, one would say.
For the one who entered one of EHICA Cafés, the statement above would transcend time and space.
These Cafés are a venue of a kind. A unique place that would take any visitor back to historic times and furthermore to times where social interaction had a role of utmost importance in societies.
Kipos Café particularly, stands for the historic café where not only generations but also cultures meet. A place where arts meet people, the young meet the old, past meets present days and as two artists in a duet, shape the future in an extraordinary cultural manner based upon inter-cultural and intergenerational dialogue.
It is more important nowadays to fully understand the importance of intercultural dialogue, in a world where the need for this is of utmost importance.
Kofi Annan once said “Tolerance, inter-cultural dialogue and respect for diversity are more essential than ever in a world where peoples are becoming more and more closely interconnected.”
Therefore, let us continue our effort in preserving our long-lasting traditions through our personal dedication and involvement and moreover let us continue this inter-cultural dialogue that will finally lead us to a better understanding of the common values we all share.
